Trash

Deleting something in Scriptorium never destroys it immediately. Items move to the Trash, where they can be restored with everything intact — content, properties, relationships, history.

Deleting

Delete any item from its sidebar action menu:

• The item disappears from the sidebar and moves to the Trash.
• Deleting a folder trashes everything inside it too.
• Nothing is lost — all content and connections are preserved while the item sits in the Trash.

While something is trashed:

• Opening it shows a red banner with Restore and Delete actions — the page is read-only.
• Its relationships are hidden until it’s restored.
• Trashed manuscripts stop counting toward writing goals.
• Page links pointing to it show an unavailable state.

The Trash panel

Open Trash in the Tools panel to:

• Browse everything that’s been deleted — trashed folders show a badge with how many items they contain
• Restore an item (and everything that was deleted along with it)
• Delete permanently — with a confirmation dialog, because this one really is forever
• Empty trash — permanently delete everything at once

How restore behaves

• Restoring a folder brings back the items that were deleted together with it. Items you had trashed separately beforehand stay in the Trash.
• If an item’s original parent folder is itself still in the Trash, the restored item is placed at the top level of the project.
• Relationships reappear once both connected items are active again.
