Account & License
Your account
Section titled “Your account”Scriptorium uses a simple email + password account. It exists for exactly two purposes: managing your license and (optionally) the feedback board. Your writing is not stored in your account — it lives on your device.
- You stay signed in; sessions refresh automatically.
- Account data is hosted in Europe and protected under GDPR.
Trial, purchase, license
Section titled “Trial, purchase, license”- Signing up starts a 14-day free trial with every feature unlocked.
- Scriptorium is a one-time purchase — lifetime access, free updates, no subscription. One purchase covers macOS, Windows, and Linux.
- To buy: click the upgrade prompt in the app. Checkout opens in your web browser; once you complete payment, the app detects it automatically and unlocks within seconds.
Read-only mode
Section titled “Read-only mode”Sometimes a page is read-only. The two reasons:
- The item is in the Trash — a red banner offers Restore or Delete.
- Your trial has expired — all your work remains on your device and fully readable; editing re-enables the moment you purchase.
In read-only mode, toolbars and edit controls are hidden and auto-save is off — nothing can change your content accidentally.
Sending feedback
Section titled “Sending feedback”Found a bug or have a feature idea? Use the feedback board, reachable from the Help button in the app:
- Post ideas and issues, add tags
- Vote on other people’s suggestions to help prioritize
- Comment and discuss
- The Help button shows a badge when there’s activity on posts you follow
Feedback posts are the one thing you write that does leave your machine — by design, since we need to read them!
