Exporting Your Work
When it’s time to share your work — with an editor, beta readers, or the world — export it as PDF, DOCX, or Markdown. Your writing is never locked into Scriptorium.
Exporting a manuscript
Section titled “Exporting a manuscript”- Open the Export page from your project.
- Choose what to include — tick the manuscripts to export. Selecting a chapter selects its scenes automatically.
- Order them — drag manuscripts to set the export order, and place the table of contents where you want it.
- Pick a format and export.
The most polished output — a print-ready document:
- A4 pages with page numbers
- Table of contents with accurate page numbers
- Your full Block Style typography, including custom fonts
- Hyphenation with per-language dictionaries (set your project language)
- Drop caps for chapter openings
- Images with their alignment, wrapping, and sizing preserved
- Footnotes at the bottom of the page
- Code blocks with syntax highlighting
- Configurable page breaks per manuscript level (e.g. every chapter starts a new page)
For sending to editors and anyone working in Word:
- Page breaks, alignment, and indentation preserved
- Text color and highlights carried over
- Real Word footnotes
- Images included with their sizing
Markdown

- Standard tables, fenced code blocks, and footnotes

Exporting entities and notes
Section titled “Exporting entities and notes”Individual entities and notes can be exported to PDF or Markdown from their action menu in the sidebar. Entity exports include the name, content, and a properties section — handy for sharing a character sheet.
